Along with being as good of a stud dog as we could have ever hoped for,
Zulu was a great friend and lovable companion
all around. He ranks right up at the top of the list of the all time sweetest
dogs I've ever had the pleasure of being around. In fact, he even managed
to sneak into my father, Leroy's recliner and even his lap a time or two.
Something that is utterly unheard of with Leroy's hog dogs. That's not to
say that Leroy don't have a HUGE heart as well, because he certainly does.
It's just that he's from the old school and rarely ever lets a hunting dog
in the house, much less his favorite recliner. But that's another story
I'll save for another time.
Once Zulu learned what a wild
hog was all about, the massive "lap dog" soon found a new passion. He
was raised in an apartment in Austin, Tx until he was about 14 months old
when he came to stay with us. He had no idea what a hog was, but it didn't
take him long to figure out what to do with one. He quickly became known
as "The Brain Surgeon" , a well fitting title since he discovered
the technique that earned him the name quickly stopped the hogs from doing
much of anything besides say'n UNCLE!!!.
Zulu retired much
as he is seen here in this first photo . . . Enjoying the company of his
master.
