Taz loved hogs!!! She played with hogs in the practice
pen a few times and acted as if she had been doing that all her short
life. Taz was only in on one hunt, as shown in the photo below with the
hog in a river. We saw the hog cross the road ahead of us and knew that it
was not a big boar and didn't have large tusk, so we decided to let her
and Andy out with the old hound dog and Zulu to see if they would join the
race. She was the first one there and didn't hesitate one bit to dive off
in the river after the hog with Zulu and Andy right behind her.
The river was deep and cold and moving swiftly, but she never seemed to
notice. She went under with the hog when she hit it and Zulu caught from
the other side. Ken bailed off in after them and I took the photo then
helped him get them all out on dry ground again. For her first hog outside
of the pen, she work as good as any seasoned veteran.
I included both of Andy's parent's photos on this page, since they were
half sisters and I never received any of Taz's other parent's photos from
Von Hof.
