Rankin Dogo Kennels - Established 1993

Dogo Argentino - Big Game Hunter and Family Guardian

The Original Rankin Dogo Bloodlines

In case anyone is not aware by now, it should be noted that we got involved with Dogos because we hunt wild boar. Therefore, we have a few action shots mixed in the individual dog's pages showing some photos of the the hunts they were involved with when available.

These were the Dogos we started with in 1993 - Foundation Stock

Zulu

Gringa

Andy

Taz

The first branch of our Dogo Family Tree began in 1994 with the litter from Zulu and Gringa. The pups of their litter are linked in Gringa's Page. Zulu and Andy had the second litter. Their pup's pages are linked on Andy's Page.

A year later, we bred Andy to Romeo. Petey had the next litter, followed by Shadow - both were line bred back to Zulu.

A few years later, we took a trip to Indiana to meet JoAnn and Don Carty (the co-founders of the D.A.C.A.) and to have our Shadow bred by their Louie. On the trip back to Texas, we arranged to stop in Louisiana to met Marvin, a fellow hog hunter and Dogo owner, to bred our Romeo to his Lucy. Both were successful and produced some really nice pups, not to mention how much we enjoyed meeting Jo & Don and everyone else there and Marvin on the way home. All and all, it was a great trip and well worth the drive.

The above mentioned Dogos are the ones that we started with and that began our original lines. However, they were not the only Dogos we have enjoyed over the years. I have included several More Dogos that have been a part of our hunting packs and families. Some were used in the woods and are also shown in our Hunting Photos section and some simply enjoy the life of family dogs.

All of the above Dogos and their offspring can be seen by following the tree/links from the Site Map.

Hunting with Dogos

In addition to the action shots included in the individual dog's pages, we have more photos to share. Many showing several dogs in the same photo, so we felt a separate Hunting Photos section would be the best way to show these. This section is available for anyone that is interested in seeing the Dogos in action, doing what the breed was created to do and what they love and live for - Big Game Hunting.

Just a warning for the squeamish types - some of the images may be considered a bit graphic. (Note: I have taken the time to do some minor editing of a few images, for color only - not content.)
